En appliquant un potentiel \u00e9lectrique n\u00e9gatif \u00e0 la cible, on g\u00e9n\u00e8re un <strong>plasma<\/strong>, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire un gaz ionis\u00e9 compos\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrons et d&rsquo;ions positifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les ions positifs d&rsquo;argon, acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9s par le champ \u00e9lectrique, frappent la cible avec une \u00e9nergie suffisante pour en expulser des atomes de sa surface. Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, appel\u00e9 bombardement ionique, est purement physique (et non chimique). Des pressions plus basses favorisent des films plus denses et compacts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Puissance appliqu\u00e9e :<\/strong> d\u00e9termine l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie des ions et, par cons\u00e9quent, la vitesse de d\u00e9p\u00f4t.
